What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The hiring range for this position is $22.50-$25.50 an hour. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

What You’ll Do
We are currently hiring for a Utility Worker II positions for the Department of Transportation & Infrastructure’s (DOTI) Street Maintenance and Traffic Operations teams.

- DOTI Street Maintenance is responsible for filling potholes, repaving streets, sweeping streets, and removing snow from public streets and alleys. This division also manages the City’s asphalt plant, which produces asphalt for resurfacing and maintaining city streets and alleys.
- DOTI Traffic Operations is responsible for the operation, maintenance, installation, and emergency repair of traffic control devices. They also operate the Transportation Management Center and are responsible for signals, electronics repair, utility locates, sign installation, sign manufacturing and pavement markings.
The Utility Worker II position will assist with general labor, safety, and related work tasks on a crew with Equipment Operators.
As a Utility Worker II you will:
- Perform semi-skilled and light to heavy physical labor on a variety of construction, maintenance, and repair projects
- Operate light weight equipment powered by small engines for maintenance and minor construction projects and patch asphalt and paved areas
- Lift and empty heavy solid waste containers into disposal trucks, operate hydraulic compaction unit on city trash collection vehicles, and wash trucks as needed
- Perform minor repairs on gardening and grounds equipment, vehicles, and machinery including repairs of sprinkler systems and may design and fabricate equipment and tools as needed
