Job Description
We are looking for a Manager, Fleet Operations to join our growing team! In this role, you will report directly to the Director, Shared Services and you'll be responsible for providing the strategic and tactical guidance to ensure that the fleet asset management is aligned with both long-term & short-term service delivery, asset reliability, safety and financial goals. Brightspeed’s fleet consists of over 2,500 fleet vehicles and over 2,000 fleet tools located throughout a 20-state territory. You will be responsible for all aspects of motor vehicle and motorized equipment acquisition including design and specification standards, upfit services, budgeting and competitive source selection and disposition. You will also be responsible for the maintenance and repair service delivery including preventive maintenance and LOF service level frequencies and task standards, national and regional account management for tires, glass, accident repair, appearance and vendor/supplier provided labor and parts procurement services. You will be responsible for corporate bulk and commercial service station fuel card programs including alternative fuel evaluation and initiatives.
As the Fleet Manager, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Provide day-to-day coaching, advice, direction and support of Fleet team.
- Complete financial approval based on corporate policies and provides support for vehicle repairs and local operating issues
- Ensure that fleet vehicles are consistently maintained across Brightspeed regions
- Ensure that all State and Federal regulations are communicated and followed by local supervisors. Including ANSI, DOT, Licensing, and Registration
- Works with local supervisors to maintain budget based on cost per mile for local area
- Maintain relationship with Regional Operations teams to stay informed of initiatives, goals, and projects requiring Fleet support
- Implementation of tactical plans and actions in support of Brightspeed’s business objectives
Qualifications
WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or fleet related fields preferred or 7+ years of relevant experience of related technical and/or managerial experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of fleet management principles, techniques and laws involved in the operations and maintenance of a fleet portfolio
- Knowledge and experience with asset management principles and operations
- Prior experience in leadership/supervisory role
- Organized self-starter who can understand and proactively support strategic corporate objectives, while translating and training at the tactical level as necessary for implementation
- Demonstrated technical knowledge/experience vehicle repairs and repair issues
- Demonstrated process management knowledge/experience focused on coordination of multiple vendors/suppliers and timeframes
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence both internal and external team members toward corporate goals and objectives
- Demonstrated effectiveness with oral presentations and written communications with special emphasis on technical applications
- Demonstrated ability to accept, embrace and manage ambiguity/change as determined by evolving business conditions
- Ability to prioritize, organize and accomplish multiple and broad range of tasks within pressured timeframes
- Ability to analyze, modify, and/or effectively implement processes where necessary for successful program delivery
