- Research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for massive social data and prediction problems.
- Working on problems of moderate scope, develop highly scalable systems, algorithms and tools leveraging deep learning, data regression, and rules based models.
- Suggest, collect, analyze and synthesize requirements and bottleneck in technology, systems, and tools.
- Develop solutions that iterate orders of magnitude with a higher efficiency, efficiently leverage orders of magnitude and more data, and explore state-of-the-art deep learning techniques.
- Adapt standard machine learning methods to best exploit modern parallel environments (eg distributed clusters, multicore SMP, and GPU).
- Develop and implement advanced machine learning models for our recommendation system, enhancing user experience by delivering personalized advertisement.
- Conduct rigorous data analysis and apply statistical techniques to understand user behavior and model performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product management, design) to integrate ML models into our product and optimize their performance.
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Software, Computer Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
- Requires completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis in the following:
- Machine Learning Framework(s): PyTorch, MXNet, or Tensorflow
- Machine learning, recommendation systems, computer vision, natural language processing, data mining, or distributed systems
- Translating insights into business recommendations
- Developing and debugging in C, C++, and Java
- Scripting languages: Perl, Python, PHP, or shell scripts
- C, C++, C#, or Java
- Python, PHP, or Haskell
- Software development tools: Code editors (VIM or Emacs), and revision control systems (Subversion, GIT, or Perforce)
- Linux, UNIX, or other *nix-like OS including file manipulation and simple commands
- Distributed systems including sharding, consistency, and availability
- Data structures and algorithms
- Researching skills to find, define, and solve Machine Learning and engineering problems
- Mathematical foundations of Calculus, Statistics, and Linear Algebra
- Ability to design experiments and evaluate model performance
- Data science skills including processing sampling, sketching, and distributed processing of large scale databases, graphs, and data streams for purposes of scalable statistical description, querying, pattern mining, and learning
- Programming methodologies (functional and object-oriented) and Design Patterns (Builders, Fluent API, Publish/Subscribe, State, Memento, Promise)
- Design test cases to detect errors in code by applying systematic criteria and write code predicates to validate the inputs and outputs of a potential solution to a program problem
