Pay Range
$75,800.00-$104,200.00 AnnualThis is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.
The purpose of the Maintenance Supervisor’s role is to oversee the maintenance department responsible for all equipment, property, buildings, and facilities within a manufacturing plant. The incumbent in this position will also be responsible for supervising maintenance personnel and supporting the operations of production, engineering and safety departments.
Your Day to Day:
- Act as technical expert in regard to mechanical equipment.
- Supervise, set direction, and delegate daily work of assigned hourly mechanical employees to support the plant goals of safety, environmental and production.
- Lead safety process, training for crews and accident investigations.
- Monitor safety and environmental processes and compliance.
- Identify, isolate and facilitate resolution of maintenance performance issues such as quality of work and work efficiency.
- Troubleshoot process equipment operational problems and maintain, repair, and upgrade plant equipment.
- Identify and execute ways to track metrics of performance and improve production levels of employees.
- Share knowledge and business experience with Plant management team.
- Manage contractor work including obtaining quotes, design help and directing contractor crews.
- Identify, implement, and maintain best maintenance and safety practices.
- Conduct daily toolbox shift meetings.
- Maintain and enforce good housekeeping strategies and methodologies.
- Oversee the maintenance scheduling and work order system.
- Manage the maintenance of the mobile equipment fleet.
- Manage hourly time and attendance process.
- May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
What You Bring to the Team:
- High School/Technical School diploma with a minimum of 10 years of manufacturing experience in a mechanical and/or electrical maintenance role
- Experience leading/managing an industrial maintenance hourly workforce.
- Experience in preventative and predictive maintenance with demonstrated success in increasing equipment reliability.
- Working knowledge of plant systems with the ability to troubleshoot and implement corrective actions.
- Solid understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, air compressor systems, cutting/welding techniques, fluid dynamic systems, and metal fabrication.
- General knowledge of mobile equipment repair, A/C and chiller systems and hydraulics.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Solid project management and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Solid analytical and quality improvement ability.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to interface at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Willingness to respond to emergency situations outside normal work schedule.
- Manages a staff of approximately 25 hourly union employees, sets direction and deploys resources.
- Work environment is typical of a manufacturing facility; may be exposed to environmental conditions of cold, heat, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, heights, dust/mist/gas/fumes, extensive walking or climbing, etc.
- May be required to lift, carry, push or pull up to and including 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field preferred with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
- Working knowledge of SAP systems
- Fundamental knowledge of laws, codes, and regulations (OSHA, etc.)
