The Sr. Director of Contracts will be responsible for ensuring AAR Government Services, Inc. complies with Government and Defense contractual requirements.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Execution of team responsibilities to review bids, proposals, contract awards for Customer requirements and identify areas of risk to appropriate stakeholders

  • Direct contracts team activities and oversight of analysis of Customer requirements (Government and Third Party) and regulatory guidance from various sources (FAR, DFARS, DLA, etc.) and implement processes and procedures for successful contract execution

  • Assist VP/GM, Program Managers, and other internal functions (Finance, Legal, Risk, etc) in identifying and proposing contract modifications and changes.

  • Oversee collaboration process between Contracts, Business Development, Proposal Management teams to monitor and manage proposal/quotation processes to meet due dates.

  • Work with Vice President, Government Contracts/Subcontracts to develop and implement internal/external training plans for Government/Defense contracts/subcontracts staff

  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with Government/Defense customers as required

  • Execute large and complex contracts with primes, subs, inter-company, on behalf of the organization utilizing defined processes and procedures.

  • Represents AGS on large, complex, and important business relationships.

  • Leads meetings with managers and customers.

  • Identify and implement corporate and business unit goals at tactical and strategic levels and responsibly for the success of team dynamics

  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

What you will need to be successful in this role:

  • Masters degree (M.A.) or equivalent; or fifteen related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Bachelors required, Masters or Juris Doctor preferred

  • Minimum 10 years government contract experience in government or industry supporting government.

  • Experience (direct or indirect) with a Government agency is preferred.

  • Prior experience in the defense industry is preferred.

  • Managerial and leadership experience required; preferably 7-10 years of direct supervisory experience recommended
