Sr. Facilities Maintenance Technician

The Senior Facility Maintenance Technician will work within the facility team for the purpose of achieving a key result or group of aligned results. They must possess an advanced knowledge of mission critical directives and situations surrounding the building, process equipment, all areas inside the facility, lift assemblies, conveyors, etc. They must help to develop strategies to meet team and company goals. Reports to the various supervisors and managers throughout the production organization. The Senior Technician must possess a working knowledge of standard automotive OEM process equipment and related systems, be a problem solver, and be communicative and proactive in the execution of daily activities. Contribute to day to day operations and create reports to update the company in the event it is required. Must be able to perform under pressure, remain dynamic, and understand urgency. The Senior Technician must be able to practice teamwork and team building within our organization.
This position operates on a continuous rotating schedule across all shifts and may require weekend assignments and additional overtime as operational needs arise
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain process equipment and build utilities across paint, body in white, and assembly areas.
- Possess strong knowledge of PLCs, programming, and troubleshooting for various manufacturing equipment.
- Maintain expertise in supplied power, water, HVAC systems, and air houses.
- Perform electrical and mechanical building maintenance, including utilities management.
- Apply advanced knowledge of electricity, pneumatics, and mechanical systems for effective troubleshooting and problem analysis.
- Understand and maintain cranes, hoists, and supporting equipment.
- Manage chemical treatment programs and ensure accurate documentation for all processes.
- Support production needs by collaborating with other departments and adjusting work schedules as required.
- Drive modernization, continuous improvement, and preventive maintenance (PM) activities for equipment and facilities.
- Enforce safety rules, process compliance, and maintain professional communication with internal teams and customers.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required. Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record (DMV check required).
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in process equipment and facilities maintenance or equivalent advanced training.
- Ability to work in moderate to heavy conditions, including exposure to all weather types.
- Physically capable of frequent standing, stooping, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Experience with PLC, BMS, or other logic platforms (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens).
- Skilled in equipment installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, water and air systems, and building construction.
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with advanced electrical and electronics knowledge.
- Familiarity with industrial power distribution systems, controls, and safety precautions.
Essential Physical Requirements:
- Standing and Walking: Ability to stand and walk for 8–12 hours per shift on hard surfaces in a production environment.
- Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands for handling tools, assembling components, and operating machinery. Requires fine motor skills and grip strength.
- Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing 10–50 lbs regularly; occasional lifting up to 75 lbs with assistance.
