The HR Generalist supports the daily operations of the HR team to add value to management and employees that reflects business objectives and culture. This position carries out responsibilities in the following areas: primarily recruitment, hiring and onboarding and secondarily benefits administration, policy implementation, performance management, compliance, employee engagement, and employee relations.
The HR Generalist must have the ability to work independently on projects, work well under pressure, have a high level of confidentiality, and handle a variety of duties. This ideal individual will be detail-oriented, have strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining a strong commitment to meeting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities and other duties as assigned:
- Responsible for the full life cycle of talent acquisition from the time a position is approved to the onboarding process including job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, hiring and pre-employment activities.
- Collaborates with managers to draft and maintain accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
- Collaborates with Marketing on Employer Branding strategies.
- Identifies and implements strategies to create active and passive candidate pipelines.
- Leads new hire onboarding process.
- Maintains 3rd party vendor relationships for temporary workforce needs.
- Assists with off-boarding and the termination of employment process.
- Provides HR support with performance management, employee development, and engagement.
- Assists with administering benefit programs, leaves of absence, return to work, and unemployment compensation.
- Utilizes the HRIS (Paycom) and ensures it is being maintained and used effectively. Provides HR reports and analysis to leadership as requested.
- Helps maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices.
- Assists HR management in developing, implementing, and evaluating policies, programs, department goals, and systems. Answers employee questions and/or concerns regarding policies and programs and escalates to HR management for resolution as needed.
- Helps drive timely resolution of employee relations issues.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Human Resources and at least 2 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
Skills and Experience:
- Strong understanding and proven ability to lead the recruitment lifecycle process.
