Description of the Position:
Responsible for greeting guests, answering phone calls, and maintaining the department file room in assigned area. Team Member will work under immediate supervision. This position relies on limited experience, instructions, pre-established guidelines, and good judgment to perform the functions of the job.
Primary Duties, Responsibilities, and Tasks:
• All team members are obligated to support and uphold the Valley View Casino & Hotel’s Standards of Excellence as outlined in the Team Member Guide to Success.
• Maintain positive guest relations at all times, resolving guest complaints and ensuring guest satisfaction. Greet guests in a courteous and caring manner using personalized service.
• Answer all incoming calls in a prompt and courteous manner, routing to the appropriate person. Relay messages to designated team members.
• Receive visitors and Team Members, determines nature of business, directs individuals to appropriate staff, and/or supplies information where a working knowledge of the operation is necessary.
• Utilize computers and various software to answer incoming team members or applicant questions.
• Operate office equipment such as copy machine, fax machine, adding machine, postage machine, calculator, telephone system and headset.
• Assist applicants with completing employment applications using lobby kiosks for Human Resources position only.
• Provides support and assistance to team members with any Human Resources Information System (HRIS) related needs.
• Maintain file room, accurately filing all incoming paperwork using pre-established guidelines to sort, alphabetize, file, search and/or retrieve computerized and/or manual records and files.
• Utilize postage machine to seal envelopes and apply postage to various outgoing mail. Send outgoing inter-department mail.
• Check incoming mailboxes of assigned area in the casino daily, time stamping as needed, and route to the appropriate person.
• Complete verifications of employment using pre-established guidelines for Human Resources position only.
• Performs routine typing or word processing of materials including lists, envelopes, and form letters where speed and accuracy are not a primary factor.
• Compiles and maintains simple accounting and financial records where no technical bookkeeping knowledge is required.
• Maintains perpetual inventories, conducts physical inventories and requisitions supplies. Provide administrative support to Human Resource team members as needed.
• Maintain the highest level of confidentiality within the department and the company.
• Maintains a working knowledge of company facilities, as well as special events on property, in order to advise guests and fellow Team Members of same, whenever possible.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
• Responsible for conducting all responsibilities in a professional and ethical manner.
• Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
• Adheres to performance standards, company policies and procedures, as they relate to the department.
Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Bi-lingual in English and Spanish.
• One year of guest service experience.
• Previous experience answering phones and responding to guest inquiries.
• Demonstrated proficiency in filing.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute.
• Ability to multi-task between incoming guests, phone calls and other duties.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality within the department and the company.
