Position Summary

The Assistant Research Scientist applies biomedical and informatics knowledge to assist in the design, development, and ongoing modification of IT and data management platforms. May educate staff and assist in problem solving to promote the implementation IT and data management platforms.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement or evaluate information technology applications, tools, processes or structures to assist clinical and research faculty and staff with data management.

  • Translate biomedical information needs and data management requirements between clinicians and systems engineers, analysts or designers using object-oriented models or other techniques.

  • Identify, collect, record or analyze data relevant to clinical research and care.

  • Apply knowledge of health science, information science and informatics theory to clinical practice, education, administration or research, in collaboration with other health informatics specialists.

  • Analyze computer and information technologies to determine applicability to clinical practice, education, operations and research.

  • Develop strategies, policies or procedures for introducing, evaluating or modifying information technology applied to clinical practice, education, administration or research.
