What you'll do:

The Segment Chief Information Officer - Lending will define and lead the bank’s lending focused applications program. As a member of the senior leadership team, reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the role will develop the company wide vision and direction for our Lending platforms and will require a broad knowledge of all lending products and its operating areas across the bank. The position will be responsible for implementing the near-term project and support imperatives while establishing longer-term conditions for success of the Lending portfolio. Through a collaborative leadership style, the Segment Chief Information Officer will engage with senior leaders, establish alignment across our lending platforms and their priorities, secure necessary funding, and lead the team to implement program objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Defines the bank’s strategy related to applications focused on lending and implements solutions necessary to achieve its outcomes.
  • Acts as a thought leader for our lending products, business models and technologies while establishing cross functional priorities to achieve transformative improvements in customer and employee experience.
  • Continuously drives the pace of change across the organization improving agility and speed to market for process improvements, new products, and lending solutions.
  • Collaborates with product and technology teams to ensure product, data, cyber security, and lending strategies remain in constant alignment.
  • Accountable for achieving the established cross functional outcomes of the lending portfolio of solutions and applications.
  • Provide continuous reporting on Key Performance and Risk metrics for the lending program, including benefits achieved through new projects and efforts.
  • Builds and maintains external relationships in academia, industry bodies, fintech’s, and technology providers to drive continued innovation and identify potential acquisitions or partnerships to deliver new revenue or experience capabilities including across our blockchain effort.
  • Ensures adequate risk management and cyber security processes and controls are established and maintained in alignment with the banks risk appetite and regulatory and enterprise risk management expectations.
  • Builds, mentors, and manages a diverse team responsible for delivering solutions to enable the lending products.  Develops, coaches, reinforces team engagement in line with the mission, vision, values, goals and performance standards of the IT organization.
  • Prepares and manages an annual budget, business cases, execution plans, and operating plans for their team and resources required to achieve established lending priorities.
  • Provides timely progress reporting on the lending portfolio, either directly or through the CIO, to the board, executive management, and internal risk and management committees.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years as a senior technology leader with broad knowledge across a diversity of business and technology functions.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience required. Master’s Degree in Business or technical discipline is a plus. 
  • Experience in financial services industry with proven regulatory and compliance discipline.
  • Experience with large, enterprise core platforms and providers, mobile and digital platforms, and system integration technologies.  
  • Broad experience in, but not limited to, customer experience process improvement programs, data and analytics, and development and delivery of open and secure API’s.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, deliver innovation, and drive improved customer and employee experience.
  • Excellent analytical and business consulting skills with demonstrated experience in strategic planning, program execution, and development of strong risk management practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex issues to technical and non-technical audiences and senior management.
  • Proven ability to build strong, cohesive, partnerships with business, operations, and technology leadership and work effectively in a matrix organization.
  • Working knowledge of public cloud platforms and integration into infrastructure strategies.
  • Demonstrated leadership; proven track record of leading complex, multidisciplinary talent teams in new endeavors and delivering solutions including software engineering and application support.
