About the Team

The Business Operations team drives the vision, alignment and execution of cross-functional workflows, tooling and infrastructure needs for the content pipeline platform-wide, along with maintenance of corresponding documentation. This includes internal tools, external vendors, content and programming deal flow, revenue, rights management, and acquisitions.  The core tenets of the team are accuracy, scalability, repeatability, and adaptability.

 

About The Role

We are seeking a Senior Associate who will establish and shape the Deal Desk, Data Governance & Compliance functions of Roku's Business Operations team. The Business Data Operations team drives the vision and execution of daily operations, tooling and infrastructure for content pipeline and content revenue with a focus on efficiency and scale. The Senior Associate, Business Data Operations will be responsible for in-depth review and approvals of revenue and marketing commitments outlined in Roku's content agreements and ensure overall data accuracy and compliance. Along with standard approval flows, they will help formalize and oversee exceptions workflows end-to-end, instituting and maintaining repeatable audits for all transactional business models Roku supports for both domestic and international distribution. To accomplish the above, this resource will serve as the connective tissue between our business leads and various content finance and accounting groups across Roku in support of deal negotiations. The ideal candidate for this role has served in a deal desk function or has relevant experience with business contracts and/or insertion orders in the tech and media space (OTT preferred). 

 

For New York Only - The estimated annual salary for this position is between $97,000-$146,000 annually.  Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Approval of content distribution and programming acquisitions deals to verify accuracy and serve as a preliminary audit and compliance layer
  • Establish and implement data governance standards, policies, and related documentation for Roku's content pipeline across external and internal proprietary systems
  • Implement an audit process to ensure policies, procedures and metrics are in place for measurement and continuous improvements
  • Enact proactive change management controls, alerting and standardizing communications to appropriate stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain intuitive, usable data (business) dictionaries
  • Inform the product and engineering roadmap for effective deal capture and related integrations/automations 
  • Partner with data security, privacy, legal, finance and business teams to ensure compliance and inform them of data governance best practices
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to quickly address breakdowns in data quality and issue remediation
  • Serve as the core liaison between business teams and content finance and accounting stakeholders
  • Reinforce data management practices, systems of record, and how to source and where to consume data
  • Oversee, manage and deliverables and processes for data dictionaries, upcoming challenges and ongoing risk

 

We’re excited if you have

  • 3+ years of experience in deal desk, data management, internal/external risk assessment, audit, compliance, internal controls, or related fields
  • Experience in the OTT, tech or media space highly preferred
  • Possess a strong background in business process, financial, and compliance auditing techniques (experience supporting testing for Sarbanes-Oxley strong
