Business Manager, Design Authority
The Business Manager for Design Authority reports directly to the Design Authority Director and is responsible for helping to develop and maintaining the department's vision, organizing the day-to-day operations, identifying and filling gaps, and increasing the operational efficiency. The successful candidate will drive alignment across the department, develop and track department goals and objectives, and be the first level to solve critical problems across the department.
The Business Manager will interface frequently with the Senior Managers and Project Account Engineers for alignment on schedule planning, cost planning and management, staffing planning and risk management. They will be responsible for coordinating and directing communications, developing, and making executive level presentations, coordinating team presentations, open-forums and roundtables. The Business Manager will coordinate directly with peer Business Managers, aligning processes and procedures along with lessons learned from each department.
Responsibilities
- Support Design Authority leadership in communicating key goals, priorities, definitions, goals and vision.
- Assists in the establishment of department goals and tracks them through completion using key performance indicators
- Continually refines department vision with Design Authority leadership
- Creates and maintains the departmental roadmap, and disseminates this information to the program leadership
- Formalizes and establishes ownership across departmental groups by supporting Design Authority managers’ in planning for success in their areas
- Working with Department Director, develops and executes strategy on how best to execute internal and external strategies to position the department as a central driver of project success.
- Manages the department objectives, key results, and indicators.
- Helps drives accountability for the team and organization in executing core business activities. Determines feasibility and prioritizes team activities when needed
- Coordinate and direct communications, including development and delivery of executive level and team presentations
- Creates clarity in ambiguous situations to facilitate and drive prioritization and decision making for leaders across the organization.
