Vaccination for COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) is mandatory for all MSK staff. Staff are considered fully vaccinated upon completion of a primary vaccination series for COVID-19 (i.e., one dose of a single dose vaccine or a final dose of a multi-dose vaccine series). Exceptions from the COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) vaccine requirements are permitted for those who request and receive an approved medical, religious, or fully remote exemption.  Requests for exemption can take up to two weeks to review. Vaccination or an approved exemption is required to start work. 

Job Description

Are you a storyteller, able to synthesize knowledge from a variety of sources and communicate complex topics to non-technical audiences? If you are hardworking with a strong passion for data, this is the perfect role for you! We are seeking a Data Scientist/Business Intelligence Analyst who has strong technical skills and is adept at applying them to real-world problems. You will partner with the MSK Direct leadership to analyze and optimize the MSK Direct program. MSK Direct is the largest and highest-quality cancer benefits solution in the U.S., partnering with employers and unions as well as health plans and digital health companies.

 

You will:

• Create and maintain external and internal reporting to demonstrate the value of tour program, and optimize the services we deliver
• Conduct analyses to ensure that decisions about the future of the program (product, marketing, partnerships) are made based on data
• Support the development of data products used by patients and staff to improve services offered to patients

You have:

• 4+ years of experience in using analytics and data science to impact key business decisions
• Related experience in statistics, economics, operations research, or mathematics.
• Knowledge in choosing the right technical approach
• Manage analytical projects from "question to answer" including problem framing, data collection and validation, exploratory analysis, statistical modeling, visualization, synthesis, and ongoing maintenance of reusable tools
• Conducted reproducible analyses using R (preferably) or Python and comfortable with statistical methods.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL, Tableau, or similar BI tools
• Superb communication and written skills
