Business Development Manager

Role Summary

Secure Data Technologies is seeking a driven Business Development Manager to lead, develop, and develop our Business Development Representative (BDR) team. This role will be responsible for onboarding, training, and managing a team of three BDRs, ensuring they deliver consistent top-of-funnel execution that drives qualified opportunities into the pipeline.

Beyond managing the team, you will play an active role in coaching and developing sales skills, refining messaging, and shaping outbound strategies. You’ll work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to align efforts and ensure the team is positioned for success in creating meaningful conversations that lead to long-term client relationships.


Work Schedule:  On-Site Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with additional hours as needed based on business demands.  FLSA Status: Salaried - Exempt

Compensation & Career Path

  • Salary Range: $75,000 – $85,000
  • Bonus tied to sales team success and enablement KPIs.

Key Responsibilities

BDR Leadership & Team Development

Directly manage, mentor, and develop a team of 3 BDRs.

Own BDR onboarding, ramp plans, and continuous development.

Drive accountability around outreach cadence, qualification standards, and appointment setting.

Provide coaching on call scripts, email sequences, social outreach, and objection handling.

Training & Coaching

Facilitate regular call reviews, role plays, and live feedback sessions.

Develop consultative, question-first sales behaviors to replace pitch-first approaches.

Reinforce value-based selling to differentiate Secure Data’s offerings in Managed Services, Professional Services, and Advisory solutions.

Outbound Strategy & Execution

Collaborate with Marketing and Sales leadership to refine messaging, playbooks, and prospecting strategies.

Ensure the BDR team is consistently generating pipeline through effective outreach campaigns.

Track, analyze, and report on BDR performance metrics (appointments, conversion rates, pipeline contribution).

Qualifications

Required:

3 - 5+ years of experience in business development, inside sales, or sales leadership.
Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
Proven track record of managing or mentoring BDR/SDR teams.
Strong coaching, facilitation, and training skills.
Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and sales engagement tools (Outreach, Gong, Chorus).
Deep understanding of consultative and value-based selling.

Preferred:

  • Experience in IT Services, Managed Services, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, or Advisory Sales.
  • Familiarity with Challenger, Sandler, or MEDDPICC methodologies.
  • Knowledge of partner/channel sales dynamics.
Physical Requirements
  • Sedentary role: Majority of the work is performed while seated at a desk in an office or remote setting, with extended periods of computer use and screen time.
  • Repetitive motions: Frequent use of keyboard, mouse, and video conferencing platforms; regular typing, clicking, and data entry.
  • Verbal communication: Daily interaction with clients, internal teams, and leadership via virtual and in-person meetings; must be able to speak clearly and confidently for extended periods.
  • Auditory demands: Ability to hear and interpret verbal communication through phone and video calls, including nuanced technical and business discussions.
