Sloan has an immediate opening for a Business Development Manager – IOT (Internet of Things) and PWT (Programmable Water Technology). In this role you will promote, sell, plan, and organize activities around the sales of smart and connected products and services to commercial facilities. The Business Development Manager will be the subject matter expert within the sales organization for smart and connected products and services along with the technology platforms and systems these products utilize. wholesalers/distributors.
Responsibilities include:
- Recognize trends within channels, research and understand latest technologies, and develop roadmap to increase sales and grow market share of connected products and services within the commercial restroom and correctional facilities. Develop and implement sales strategy for driving sales growth within the IOT and PWT product categories and channels.
- Establish key relationships with leading influencers for PWT products including Engineers, Architects, Contractors, Owners/Developers, Distributors. Key focus on calling on Engineering Specifiers and General Contractors in the Correctional Industry as well as at the correctional facilities themselves across all levels. As well as other verticals such as hospitals, public recreation facilities, etc.
- Establish key relationships with leading influencers for IOT products and services including Engineers, Architects, Contractors, Owners/Developers, Distributors. Ability to confidently present and explain connected product platforms and technologies to “C” suite level customers – CIO, CTO, CFO, COO, CMO’s who possess a high degree of technological background and understanding.
- Provide insight to Marketing Product Line Managers regarding market intelligence/trends and providing potential new product opportunities and competitive feedback.
- Generate job quotes and specifications for Sloan connected products as well as assist in laying out and potentially assisting with product installation as appropriate. Initiate and track jobs utilizing Cloud for Sales Program (CRM system).
- Achieve annual revenue targets and margin plans. Create and manage budgets (expense, forecasts, marketing funds) to annual plan. Prepare quarterly forecast update.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in sales, business, information technology, telecommunications or related discipline required
- 5+ Years industrial/commercial sales experience with documented examples of closing targeted customers and/or projects
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
- Experience with consultative and solution selling based on customer business initiatives
- Experience with long-term and short-term strategic planning, sales forecasting and budgeting.
- Flexible team player with ability to multi-task, function in a fast-paced environment under significant time pressure and successfully meet deadlines.
- Formal presentation skills.
- Highly developed critical thinking skills; ability to identify strategic trends.
- Must be able to pass a NCIC (FBI) background check
- Must have strong fundamental management skills such as business acumen, leadership skills, negotiation skills, conceptual and analytical skills, extensive product knowledge, financial aptitude, interpersonal effectiveness and decisiveness.
