PURPOSE
Serves as financial and administrative leadership within the college, working directly with the dean.
DESCRIPTION
Functional Area 1: Financial and Operational Oversight
Percent Effort: 40%
In collaboration with dean, responsible for developing, compiling, analyzing, projecting, and monitoring college budget; Producing reports for the dean and other college personnel; ensuring accountability of budgets, reporting, complex analysis, approvals, and financial strategic planning and sustainability; oversees preparation and approval of all college expenditures, including but not limited to Canopy, Workday, Concur, and IslanderBuy
Oversee the collection and submission of information to TAMUCC departments such as HR, Budget, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Accounting
Represent the College of Science on university committees and other planning groups related to finance and administration and serve as the college’s main liaison to central units.
Functional Area 2: People and Resource Management
Percent Effort: 30%
Provide leadership and direction for college employees regarding the various funding sources in the college. Serve as a resource for HR, procurement, and travel for all college employees.
Provide direct support and leadership for assigned staff through ongoing performance feedback, goal setting, and development plans.
Plan for future staffing needs in the college. Commit staff and resources to the accomplishment of goals, objectives, and professional development activities.
Serve as designated approver for all business processes.
Provide timely communications to college employees regarding changes to university policies and procedures and potential impact to the college.
Functional Area 3: Strategic Planning and Leadership
Percent Effort: 30%
Collaborate with university leaders and the college leadership team to define and plan funding to support the college’s strategic vision that coordinates services and resources to support the current TAMUCC strategic plan.
Enable the overall college strategy, direction and strategic plans through the development and maintenance of financial plans aligned with the college’s teaching, learning, research, and service goals.
