Building Maintenance-Independent Stave Company

The Building Maintenance position is responsible for maintaining the grounds and facilities of the organization. This includes performing routine cleaning, operating assorted power equipment, and working under moderate supervision. Responsible for removing snow and dirt and keeping the facility's grounds and environment clean, attractive, orderly, safe, and healthy in all weather conditions. In this role, you will report to the Maintenance Manager.

Location: Rickman Mill

Schedule: Friday-Sunday 6:00am-6:30pm

Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour

Grounds and Facility Maintenance Responsibilities:

• Performs repair and upkeep of the building structures, equipment, and machinery as needed
• Cuts and maintains lawns and grass. Rakes and cares for plants, flowers, and trees on the property. 
• Operates and maintains any light trucks or equipment associated with your job responsibilities.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections of the facility systems and equipment at required intervals.
• Inspect and maintain the facility's safety equipment and devices, such as emergency lighting, fire suppression systems, fire extinguishers, eye wash stations, exhaust systems, etc.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks such as soap disperser/sanitizer refilling, spot vacuuming, cleaning, and trash removal as needed.
• Able to perform some basic electrical wiring for appliances and lighting devices.
• Repair plumbing issues, including restroom fixtures, drains, water supplies, etc.
• Knowledge of HVAC system operation and ability to perform basic maintenance and service for those systems as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications for the Facility and Maintenance Position:

• Safety- above all.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of experience in building, mechanical equipment maintenance and repair, or a combination of education /technical school equivalent and work experience.
• Training in troubleshooting and repair of HVAC and basic plumbing knowledge.
• Ability to work in various body positions: bending, stooping, standing, and the ability to have coordinated movements of pulling, pushing, grasping, reaching, and bilateral arm movements.
• Able to work independently or in a close team with minimal supervision.
• Able to walk and stand for long periods will work in diverse environmental conditions.
