The BSA Analyst performs a variety of duties to assist the BSA Officer as assigned by the General Counsel & Chief Risk Officer. The BSA Analyst performs various quality control reviews and monitoring pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, Anti-Money Laundering (“AML”) Program, Counter Financing of Terrorism (“CFT”), OFAC, and Customer Identification Program using industry standard and regulatory guidance and implementing and revising policies and procedures to ensure the Bank’s compliance with all of these regulations. The BSA Analyst will also be responsible for analyzing and conducting timely periodic high risk account reviews and private ATM reviews for irregular transactions. This position also assists with other compliance and/or risk related activities within the Department as necessary. These activities may include but are not limited to: researching various banking issues, assisting with managing the Bank’s access management systems, assisting with managing the Bank’s camera systems, responding to law enforcement requests for assistance, assisting with compliance reviews to monitor the Bank’s compliance with federal and state consumer protection regulations, and completing and/or updating risk assessments using the Bank’s Enterprise Risk Management software.
Essential Job Functions:
- Follow-up on any irregularities that come from newly opened accounts identified through ChexSystems/Fraud Finder and work with branch managers and the operations department to resolve these issues. Utilize internal/external resources to investigate and analyze potential fraud and money laundering. Conduct suspicious activities investigations.
- Assist with gathering, processing and coordinating the Bank's BSA, AML, CFT and OFAC data to help ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Deliver and coordinate BSA/AML/CFT training and continued education. Assists in creating Bank compliance training program.
- Monitor daily cash activity to ensure CTRs are properly reported on a timely basis; address shortfalls in documentation provided by branch and operations staff and provide training to correct those shortfalls as needed. Assist BSA Officer with Annual CTR Exemption Reviews.
- Regularly monitors Suspicious Activity Reports (“SAR”) activity. Collaborates on all SAR decisions to assist BSA Officer’s reporting to FinCEN and the Board of Directors.
- Assist during all periodic BSA/AML/CFT compliance reviews, exams and internal audits by gathering documents, and other pertinent information for review by compliance examiners. Organize, analyze, and present data related to the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, and the rules of OFAC, including CTR processing and SAR decisioning.
- Participate in the development, maintenance and updating of all BSA/OFAC/AML/CFTpolicies, procedures and compliance as they relate to the BSA/AML/CFT program.
- Review all new accounts to ensure that all CIP information has been properly documented.
- Research various banking issues as assigned.
- Assist in ensuring enhanced due diligence is completed for High-Risk accounts including reviews for privately owned ATMs.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree and prior experience as a BSA analyst, Certified Anti-money Laundering Specialist (“CAMS”) certification preferred but not required
- Previous banking experience to include knowledge of BSA/AML/CFT requirements; at least 2 years preferred.
- Must have a valid Driver’s license.
Salary Range: $60k - $75k
