Box Truck Driver

Key Responsibilities:
· Safe Transportation:
o Operate a box truck safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
o Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness.
Delivery and Pick-Up:
o Deliver goods to specified locations in a timely manner.
o Ensure accurate delivery of products and obtain necessary signatures and documentation.
· Customer Interaction:
o Provide excellent customer service by maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
o Communicate effectively with customers to confirm delivery details and resolve any issues.
Vehicle Maintenance:
o Perform routine maintenance checks on the box truck, including checking oil, fuel, and other fluids.
o Report any vehicle malfunctions or issues to the Logistics Manager immediately.
· Compliance and Safety:
o Follow company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
o Maintain a clean driving record and comply with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
· Documentation:
o Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including time logs, delivery receipts, and mileage.
o Submit daily and weekly reports as required by the Logistics Manager.
Qualifications:
· Experience:
o Minimum of 1 year of experience driving a box truck or similar vehicle.
o Experience in a delivery or logistics role is preferred.
· Licensing and Certification:
o Valid chauffeur's license in the state of Michigan.
o Clean driving record with no major traffic violations in the past 3 years.
Skills:
o Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
o Strong communication and customer service skills.
o Ability to handle heavy lifting and physical labor as required by the job.
· Technical Proficiency:
o Familiarity with GPS systems and route planning.
o Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
· Personal Attributes:
o Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
o Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
o Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
Work Schedule:
· Flexibility to work as needed to meet delivery schedules.
