Overview

The Library is dedicated to promoting literacy, learning, and cultural enrichment through its core areas: reading, spaces and programs, reference and instruction, and special collections. With 25 branches across the city, the Library serves as a civic hub providing access to WiFi, citizenship information, computer services, and a diverse range of collections. Programs include storytimes, technology classes, arts and crafts, and educational support for all ages. Key Duties and Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities: - Sorting, verifying, shifting, and checking in materials. - Shelving materials in appropriate locations. - Retrieving and routing items from shelves as needed. - Answering basic questions and referring to other staff as appropriate. - Operating equipment such as photocopiers, microfilm readers, printers, and scanners. - Performing other related duties as required.

The Ideal Candidate for this Job

Job Requirements: - Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job. - Must be at least 14 years old. - Residency: Must be a resident of the City of Boston upon the first day of hire. - CORI: Must successfully clear a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check with the City of Boston.
