Bookkeeper / Payroll Processor

Description
KerberRose is currently hiring a Bookkeeper & Payroll Processor who will support our small business clients by assisting in regular bookkeeping and processing of payroll accounts. In performing this role, you will process quarterly and year-end payroll reporting, maintain various bookkeeping clients, and interface with client representatives, providing best-in-class customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains customer satisfaction and retention through accurate and efficient customer service.
- Interfaces with other peers and superiors to support actions and initiatives which improves client retention.
- Customer interaction – participates in client meetings via phone and in person when necessary.
- Demonstrates effective business communication skills, both verbally and in writing, to facilitate high service value with clients.
- Strategic thinking – probes, gathers and analyzes client needs pertaining to payroll processing, reporting, related services and day-to-day operations for assigned clients.
- Accurately analyzes payroll data supplied by clients.
- Accurately analyzes payroll reports for distribution to clients.
- Maintains knowledge in federal, state and local payroll administration laws, regulations and best practices.
- Provides customer-focused interaction with clients via phone, email and in person.
- Communicates effectively and accurately with internal teammates and external clients.
- Processes quarterly and annual payroll reports and W-2's.
- Performs in-house and on-site bookkeeping for clients.
Daily Duties:
- Monthly bank reconciliations and bookkeeping adjustments.
- Collect, compile and enter payroll data. Review and verify source documents - calculate and review payroll deductions.
- Prepare statements of earnings and deductions.
- Prepare balance sheet statements.
- Investigate and correct payroll discrepancies and errors.
- Prepare and print payroll reports of earnings, hours worked, taxes, insurance and leave.
- Prepare workers’ compensation audits.
- Address companies pay-related concerns and provide accurate payroll information.
- Complete requests for pay-related documents including statements and verifications.
- Calculate and complete federal, state and local tax payments.
- Develop, manage and maintain comprehensive payroll records.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines.
- Prepare and submit W-2 and W-3 forms by the appropriate deadlines.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- QuickBooks Desktop experience required; QuickBooks Online experience preferred, but not required
- Prior experience with Year-End and Quarterly Payroll Reports
