Laboratory Assistant - CLINICAL LABORATORY

The Laboratory Assistant II is responsible for the accurate and timely pre-analytical functions of specimen collection, labeling, receipt and processing.  Also the appropriate handling and/or disbursement of laboratory data and patient results. The incumbent works with acute care and outpatient caregivers, vendors, consultants and other Laboratory services staff in performing their duties.

Required Qualifications:

• Successful completion of a nationally accredited phlebotomy or medical assistant training program, 
  • 1 year phlebotomy experience.
• Demonstrated outstanding Service Excellence experience.
• Demonstrated experience with State and Federal and other regulatory Compliance regulations including Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP), EMTALA, ABN, and HIPPA

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or
• 2 years of college with courses in biological sciences and medical terminology
• Certification from an approved government agency or nationally recognized professional organization (ASCP, NCA, etc.) upon hire

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
