About the Role:

This newly created role of Manager, Enterprise Payments Product Operations is an exciting opportunity to contribute to and support critical business operations for Enterprise Payments.

The successful candidate will play a key role in governance, risk management, and oversight activities, with a strong focus on New Product Governance and the AEMP54 (American Express Management Policy for New Product Approvals) process. This includes supporting product teams through the end-to-end new product approval lifecycle to ensure all required governance, risk, and compliance obligations are met prior to launch.

The role will also contribute to other risk oversight and control initiatives, including support for audits and exams, issue management, and operational readiness—ensuring the delivery of compliant, well-documented, and well-governed payment solutions.

As this team is in the process of being formed, the successful candidate must be comfortable working in a dynamic environment where priorities and responsibilities may evolve.
The governance team is responsible for a broad range of product operations and risk oversight initiatives, including Operational Risk Events, issue management, audits and exams, new product approval processes (AEMP54), and other governance-related functions.
Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to take on new tasks as the organization grows will be key to success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and manage the AEMP54 New Product Approval process for Enterprise Payments, ensuring all required reviews, documentation, and sign-offs are completed in accordance with enterprise policy.
