This is position located in the Maine State Police Central Field Troop (CFT) in Augusta reports to the Troop Commander providing administrative and clerical support to the CFT and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit (CVEU); the successful candidate must be able to work both independently and collaboratively in an office setting dealing with law enforcement and corrections personnel. This position is in a highly visible location and the applicant will be answering questions and interacting with a variety of professionals.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Opening and distributing the daily mail for the CFT and CVEU.
- Processing requests from citizens and businesses.
- Answering phones and fielding or forwarding questions as appropriate.
- Scheduling and attending Central Field Troop Supervisor Meetings.
- Organizing bills, invoices, p-card receipts, printing, scanning, and filing.
- Printing and organizing legislative documents for Central Field Troop and CVEU.
- Fielding and maintaining all FOAA requests.
Minimum qualifications:
Training, education, or experience in office and administrative support work that demonstrates 1) competency in applying a solid knowledge of modern office practices to perform complex, varied office support tasks, and 2) the ability to use independent decision-making on the appropriate processes to follow, information to process, and actions to take in accordance with standard procedures. All positions in this classification assume the qualifications of: Office Assistant I, Office Assistant II, and Office Associate I.
