Job Title: Experienced Building Maintenance Technician

Experience Required: 1-2 years

Location: Charleston, WV

Pay Rate: $21 – $24 per hour (Based on Experience)

Job Type: Full-Time

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Building Maintenance Technician to support the daily operations and maintenance needs of our Section 8 senior and disabled housing apartment building. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-2 years of hands-on maintenance experience and a proactive approach to property upkeep and resident satisfaction. Key Responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician Position:

• Perform general maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and appliance repairs.
• Complete work orders and preventive maintenance as assigned in a timely and professional manner.
• Respond to emergency maintenance calls outside regular hours when scheduled.
• Conduct or assist with move-in and move-out inspections and perform necessary repairs to complete unit turnovers.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment throughout the property, including grounds and public areas.
• Keep accurate maintenance records and report deficiencies to the Property Manager.
• Collaborate with vendors and contractors as needed for specialized repairs.
• Uphold excellent customer service standards and respectful interactions with residents.

Qualifications for the Maintenance Technician Position:

• Minimum 1-2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in residential or affordable housing.
• Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and general repair techniques.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Must be comfortable utilizing technology to complete tasks.
• Must possess valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Can-do attitude with strong communication skills.
