Responsibilities & Expectations:
Looking for an organized and detail-oriented Electronic Repair Technician who strives to provide unmatched customer experiences to join our production team. The ideal candidate takes pride in repairing electronic products in industrial automation and delivering a quality product. This position requires some Field Service and Control work.
The ideal candidate has installation and programming experience, as well as experience repairing items such as variable frequency drives and PLCs.
• Provides quality installation, inspections, preventative maintenance Variable Frequency Drives
• Install, repair, and perform preventative maintenance to electronic components such as Variable Frequency Drives
• Prepare material and equipment required for each job assignment
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair Variable Frequency Drives and other equipment at customer sites, maintaining a high level of professionalism
• Complete and maintain all paperwork associated with service requests
• Oversee and guide the Technician Assistants on the job
• Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day to eliminate potential hazards
• Conduct all activity in a safe manner by adhering to policies and procedures, such as, environmental, OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and warranty
• Must participate and successfully complete all training courses as required by the company
• Lead and enforce safety programs and protocols in compliance with IPS and OSHA standard
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks related to schedule, budget, or technical execution
• Apply IPS continuous improvement principles (LEAN/6S, CIPS) to drive efficiency and repeatability in data center projects
• Performs other duties as assigned
Technical Skills:
• ESD work experience
• Basic knowledge of electro/mechanical assemblies
• Electronics background, with understanding of board level components
• Fine pitch soldering skills
• Able to align and join parts such as surface mount components: leads, wires, tabs & terminals with soldering iron and hand/power tools
• Experience using electronic test equipment
• Read and understand technical drawings, data sheets, and written work instructions
• Able to test continuity using ohmmeter or other standard testing equipment
• Able to assist in maintaining quality production standards by repairing defective parts
• Basic computer proficiency
Qualifications and Competencies:
• Must have at least 3 years of experience operating a vehicle with a valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
