About the role

Key Responsibilities:

Architectural Design and Strategy:

  • Develop and maintain the overall architectural roadmap and strategies for property technologies that align with IHG’s broader technology strategy and create competitive advantage for delivering business objectives.
  • Conduct regular architecture reviews and audits, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations to achieve standards.
  • Cross-disciplinary technical expertise with understanding of strategies and delivery in software development, operations, security, quality assurance, and product development.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work through influence with senior leadership, IT teams, and business units to gather requirements, provide strategic recommendations, and ensure architectural alignment.

Technology Implementation:

  • Lead the architectural design of innovative property technologies supporting: Distribution, PMS (Property Management Systems), POS (Point of Sale), Groups and Meetings, IoT devices, Revenue Management, and Owners
  • Ensure seamless integration of new technologies with existing ecosystem. Delivering secure, compliant, and performant solutions to our global customer base.

Governance and Standards:

  • Work through influence to ensure compliance with standards. Driving consistency, scalability, and security across all property technology solutions.
  • Create and manage architectural standards and documentation, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and compliance standards.

Innovation and Improvement:

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in the hospitality industry, assessing their potential impact and applicability to the organization.
  • Drive learning initiatives that foster a culture of innovation and help to create new value for the business.

Key Skills & Experiences

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

Critical Expertise & Experience:

  • Typically, a minimum of 10-15+ years of progressive work-related experience with demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines, technologies, or processes related to the position.

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

  • Problem Formulation: Defining the real issues that need to be addressed, as well as additional variables and relationships that may affect their resolution.
  • Solution Shaping and Problem-Solving: Exploring the “art of the possible” to come up with solutions that effectively address the issues at hand through analysis, troubleshooting, research, evaluation, and communication.
  • Consensus Building: Garnering agreement on the problem and solution across all of those involved.
  • Solution Realization: Turning solution proposals into reality in a way that effectively addresses known and new issues raised by all stakeholders throughout the process of development, testing, and deployment.
  • Solution Management: Managing the solution through its natural lifecycle, including stakeholder updates, budget requirements, and evaluation.
  • Leadership: Creates an inspiring vision of the future. Motivates and inspires people to engage with that vision. Manages delivery of the vision. Coaches and builds a team, so that it is more effective at achieving the vision.

  • Travel and Hospitality Applications e.g. Distribution, PMS, POS, Group Sales, Payments

The salary range for this role is $159,783 to $220,000. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we, in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
