TITLE: Manager, Internal Communications and Engagement
LOCATION: Boston, MA or Washington, DC

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Strategic Executive Communications Manager develops and implements an internal communications strategy that articulates Oxfam America’s senior leaders’ vision and strategy to all OUS employees; develops executive messaging and communications; and manages overall coordination of projects and development support on key internal strategic initiatives. The position serves as an advisor and stand-in for the Chief of Staff as needed.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Internal Communications Management
- Develop and implement an internal communications strategy that reinforces OUS' strategy, mission, and culture, and aligns with core values, gender justice, racial equity, and the external communications strategy; the strategy will communicate decisions and messages around core agency priorities, the Oxfam America’s 2030 Strategic Framework and agency results, partner with requisite stakeholders to articulate critical staff arrivals and departures, employee opportunities, lessons learned, and best practices as well as key agency initiatives and the OI organizational change process.
- Develop channels to regularly gather input and feedback from staff in response to executive and agency communications; this includes conducting periodic measurement of staff response to key initiatives and sharing results of measurement and lessons with the SLT.
- Manage agendas and facilitate monthly all staff meetings and manager meetings, including presentation and talking points development to ensure staff and managers are engaged on critical topics and organizational transparency and accountability values are delivered. Determine and facilitate additional spaces as needed.
- Liaison to Oxfam International internal communications network; collaborating on internal communications plans and ensuring alignment with OI plans and messaging.
- Project manage staff-board meeting and related staff-board communications in partnership with rotating staff-selected board member, support prep for Board Chair in advance of staff-board meetings and support ongoing relevant board-staff communications.
- Collaborate with the Gender Justice & Inclusion Hub and People & Culture team and People, Culture and HR to help ensure sufficient focus/attention is in place with the organization to drive to achieving the mission of becoming and anti-racist and gender just organization.
- Serve as business owner of internal intranet (Compass); develop and implement both systems design and content strategy. Monitor and update Oxfam American Workplace site.
- Support development and staff use, training, and socialization of entire digital workplace and tools (workplace, teams, zoom, compass etc.).
Executive Communications
- Partner with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure regular, effective communication from the President and other executives to the agency; this includes drafting executive speeches, talking points, messages, blogs and emails; coach leadership team on effective communication as needed.
- Support President & CEO on executive speeches, talking points, presentations, and communications to Board, Leadership Council, Oxfam Connect and other high-impact giving events; Vet President & CEO’s voice in direct marketing appeals and other external donor messaging.
- Collaborate with the Vice President, Public Engagement and Global Brand Lead to ensure internal messaging and communications are aligned with marketing and brand-related communication efforts and that these together drive alignment between brand and employees.
- Support the SLT, Director, Media and Public Relations, and other key stakeholders on internal crisis communication, and the internal facing communication related to external crises; ensure timely communication with key internal stakeholder audiences as part of a robust crisis communications plan.
