Lead Software Engineer

The Opportunity:

As a Lead Software Developer in the OpenText Trading Grid Online engineering team, you will work with a broad range of technologies to enhance the product and the platform.  You will be solving problems around B2B integration and integration with other products at OpenText. You will participate in a solution that provides document control and visibility of all B2B transactions. As part of an Agile scrum team, you will work closely with team members to develop prototypes, solutions and product features. The work environment is fast-paced and constantly evolving to achieve both our strategic goals and clients’ needs.

Must be able to work in a hybrid capacity (TUE, WED and THU) out of our Gaithersburg, MD office. 

 

You are great at:

• Developing clean code
• Requirement analysis and software design
• Agile development processes and tools (Scrum, JIRA)
• Testing methodologies to ensure quality of your work.

 

What it takes:

• Developed software applications for at least 5 years
• In-depth knowledge and experience with cloud applications architecture.
• Experience with Oracle database, tunning, and DB development.
• Proven experience with Java, REST/SOAP, Maven, and Unix.
• Experience developing and deploying microservices architectures using Spring Boot or similar frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful web services and related technologies such as JSON, and Swagger.
• Experience debugging, troubleshooting and providing production support for microservices based applications 
• Experience with Version Control Systems (including Git)
• Experience with container tech: Docker and Kubernete
• Experience with Kafka
• Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes
