MDD helps insurance companies, independent adjustment firms, attorneys, multinational corporations, government entities, and individuals calculate the true economic damage of claims or disputes.MDD is looking for a Database Analyst to serve as an essential supporting function of the accounting team. The Database Analyst will maintain data storage, assess database design, and gather, organize, and interpret statistical information based on the data in the database
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee ad hoc database development and modification efforts across multiple platforms, including online systems.
- Design and implement secure, efficient, and accurate databases for project-based use.
- Stay current with data storage and management best practices.
- Ensure databases are designed to meet specifications and requirements while minimizing costs.
- Develop and maintain documentation and standards.
- Assist senior teammates by identifying and resolving production or application development issues related to the database management system software or utilities.
- Gather, organize, and analyze statistical data from the database to generate reports and respond to queries from senior leaders.
- Support short-term project management, including assigning tasks, tracking progress at the record level, and providing real-time status updates.
- Transform non-traditional or unstructured data into organized, structured, and reportable formats using available tools.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Statistics, Mathematics, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
- At least three years of experience in Data Processing, with at least two years working with database management systems, or two years of experience as a development programmer/analyst using database techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SQL Server, and other database programs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, or other web-based languages is preferred.
- Strong understanding of database design and construction.
