Job Description

Job Summary

The Admissions Office at Texas Baptist College and Southwestern Seminary is a dynamic and service-oriented office looking for an experienced individual with a strong commitment to customer service. The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the admissions processes to ensure a seamless and welcoming experience for prospective students and their families. This position assists the Director of Admissions in administrative related tasks and supports the full-time and part-time staff members, so they can accomplish their tasks as effectively and efficiently as possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serves as a representative of Southwestern Seminary and Texas Baptist College and its Admissions Office.

  • Coordinates the entire admissions cycle, including inquiries, applications, interviews, and enrollment processes.

  • Coordinates all aspects of communication and planning for the Office of Admissions to annually host 300+ prospective students and families for campus visits.

  • Works closely with faculty, staff, and administration to coordinate admissions events, initiatives, meetings, and trainings, including but not limited to Preview Day, Texas Baptist New Student Dinner, Student Orientation and Registration, and others as needed.

  • Maintains accurate and timely records of all admissions activities and applicant data in the institution's database.

  • Produces survey data for events to increase overall campus visit reviews and ratings and create new ideas to improve guest visits and tours.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned and specific to area of responsibility.

Supervisor / Leadership Responsibilities

  • Assists the Director of Admissions in tasks related to accomplishing Admissions operations, communications, administration, and coordinating resources.

  • Keeps supervisor's calendar, makes appointments, schedules meetings, and makes necessary travel arrangements.

  • Oversees the student ambassador program by providing semester training sessions for student ambassadors and additional part-time staff that centers around tour training, hospitality, and customer service.

Specific Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, education, or a related field is preferred.

  • English required; bilingual speaking abilities (Spanish, Portuguese) also preferred.

  • Successful experience in enrollment management, recruiting, office coordination, program management.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to clearly and simply articulate the value propositions of SWBTS, its degree programs, and the specific requirements for completing the application process.

  • Exemplary social skills with an ability to be a part of and contribute to a collaborative team and ensure considerate interactions with all members and guests.
