About the role

 

Banyan Treatment Center has a full-time opening within the Clinical department for a Group Facilitator, Partial Hospitalization Program. The center is located in Laurel Run, PA!

This position would be responsible for conducting groups, covering patient caseloads, biopsychosocial assessments and assisting the clinical department in a wide variety of patient care activities as directed by the attending Clinical Director.

This Group Facilitator will conduct group and serve as support to the Clinical team. They are responsible for conducting groups, covering patient caseloads, biopsychosocial assessments and assisting the clinical department in a wide variety of patient care activities as directed by the attending Clinical Director. 

 Essential Functions:

  • Conduct educational groups (lectures/videos/discussions) effectively.
  • Participate effectively in multidisciplinary treatment plan reviews, demonstrating adequate preparation and understanding of patient issues, progress, areas of resistance, positive and negative strategies, etc.
  • Document the patient’s progress accurately as it relates to treatment goals and objectives.
  • Assist patients in gaining group process skills and reinforce stated treatment goals and objectives that are measurable.
  • Utilize experiential techniques effectively and create atmosphere in which self-disclosure is facilitated.
  • Assist patients gain insight into problems and understanding treatment goals.
  • Give patient a clear picture of where he/she stands with regard to progress toward recovery as seen by the therapist and the multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Confront and document counter-productive behavior appropriately.
  • Be effective in finding needed resources.
  • Maintain clinical records according to program policies and those of licensing and accrediting agencies.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field.

Preferences:

  • Work experience in the field of substance abuse/mental health.
  • Master's degree in social work or a related field; or pursuing Master's degree. 
  • CADC/CAP in the Commonwealth of PA, preferred but not required.
