As a DCID engineer, you will work on software-defined radios and FPGA technology for advanced communication and navigation system prototypes (GNSS, PNT, GPS, etc.) that tackle the toughest challenges in the field. You will also guide the acquisition of next generation systems for our customer, help industry implement innovative technology, and create novel solutions to our customers’ most pressing problems.

Work Model: Hybrid work model and occasional support will be required onsite in Albuquerque, NM.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Develop and implement signal processing algorithms with applications to GPS/GNSS receivers, communication transceivers, and/or digital signal processing primarily on FPGA and embedded hardware

  • Analysis of signal processing and communication system performance using Matlab, Python, and other simulation environments

  • Develop hardware and software prototypes of innovative, real-time DSP and communication systems for emulation and proof of concept

  • Research pertaining to advanced signal processing, GPS technology and/or re-configurable communication processing

  • Document work products in briefings and/or technical reports to customers and colleagues

What You Need to be Successful  - Senior Member of Technical Staff

Minimum Requirements : 
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or another related field  

  • Minimum of 5 years of related professional experience, including time in graduate degree programs and in an area of digital communications, information and coding theory, digital signal processing, GNSS positioning and navigation, alternative navigation techniques

  • Proficiency with the following: C++, Python, VHDL (or Verilog)

  • Experience implementing digital communication and/or DSP algorithms in hardware using FPGAs and/or ASICs

  • Thorough understanding of logic implementation and simulation tools for complex FPGA designs, hardware architecture, testbench design, synthesis, static timing analysis, timing closure, and clock domain crossing  

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. Government.   U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

Minimum Requirements : 
  • All of the above requirements for Digital Communications & Signal Processing Engineer (Sr. Member of Technical Staff)

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience including communications engineering, digital signal processing, GNSS positioning and navigation, alternative navigation techniques

How You Can Stand Out  

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these: 

  • Obtained a master’s or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or another related field  

  • Publication record and/or experience researching, developing, and transitioning new ideas from concept to prototype

  • Work utilizing GNURadio, USRPs, and the RFNoC framework 

  • DSP algorithm design and implementation

  • Error correcting code analysis and implementation

  • Programming GPUs, hardware acceleration, process parallelization, particularly for DSP and communication software functions

  • Development using Linux, Real Time operating systems and DevOps
