As a Sr Operations Manager, you'll develop the long-range strategic goals for operations by overseeing and managing manufacturing operations, production control, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, equipment engineering, inventory control, and materials functions, such as purchasing, and shipping/receiving activities. You'll be responsible for departmental technology improvements and problem resolution in conjunction with manufacturing, quality assurance, and engineering. Your duties will also include translating customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes, resulting in cost-effective processing and profitable manufacturing of company products, developing and influencing operations-related plans, budgets, and policies and procedure and ensuring the operations environment is safe and in compliance with all regulations in regards to the production facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement processes and workflows for space-based data collection payloads.
  • Lead a small team of collection managers, quality assurance engineers, and other operations functions.
  • Communicate operational progress and status to senior and executive-level leadership.
  • Engage continuously with customers to ensure satisfactory delivery and follow-on work.
  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers to eliminate delivery risk.
  • Work with program support personnel (contracts, business operations, security) to address all non-technical program reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate operations with leadership, architects, SMEs, and the Enterprise PMO, support architecture governance to ensure alignment of products/projects with strategic vision.

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Typically 6+ years of progressive experience in project management roles and/or in related or technical fields
  • Proficient in leading a team of at least 5 either directly or indirectly.                  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a highly complex project and its various parts; proposal development, contract negotiation, resource management, engineering development, operations and production, test through delivery and contract closeout.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills & capability to meet schedules
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing data collection and ingest pipelines.
  • Background in technical or analytical discipline; including engineering, natural science, math, computer science, data science, or intelligence collection/analysis.
  • Prior experience working with the intelligence community (2+ years).
  • Experience in team building, conflict resolution, communication, briefing, strategic thinking, marketing, and literacy in the program management disciplines.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Preferred:

  • Experience working with space-based RF/digital signals collection platforms.
  • Understanding of GEOINT, SIGINT, MASINT or HUMINT tradecraft.

Estimated Starting Salary: $138,634.92 - $190,623.01
