Accounting Manager, Prime Gaming

About the role
The Games and Subs Accounting team supports Amazon’s video game businesses, and is responsible for the revenue generated by the various video game products. This position requires a self-starter who will be responsible for supporting new product launches and expansion efforts, in addition to supporting various aspects of our monthly accounting and reporting process. The role will require you to partner and collaborate with key partners within accounting, finance, tech, legal, and the business in order to determine accounting requirements associated with existing and new product launches. You will be responsible for researching technical accounting issues, writing technical accounting memos, and consulting with accounting policy as needed. You will need strong project management, writing, and communication skills with the ability to make the right recommendations and influence stakeholders in order to maintain a high bar for controllership.
Key job responsibilities
• Independently align financial and operational analyses with your business partners and Finance team members, educating them on both financial and non-financial trade-offs, and challenging business partner assumptions when necessary.
• Research, provide, and communicate accounting guidance in the form of technical accounting position papers.
• Identify the need for improved controls to address risk driven by business, industry, policy, and regulatory changes and proactively propose control solutions.
• Lead individual projects from start to finish, including managing timelines, auditing quality/progress to plan, setting priorities, and resolving conflicts with little oversight.
• Execute judgment and ensure the right decisions are reached to accurately report financial results.
• Identify opportunities and implement large-scale financial solutions to proactively resolve finance issues, improve, scale, or simplify finance tools, technology, and processes across teams and organizations.

- 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency
- Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
- Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
- Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $81,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
