Job Summary

A Maintenance Electrician Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems and equipment within the facility. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining electrical infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities

  • Exemplifying a safety-first mindset, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations ensuring compliance to the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards.
  • Electrical System Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance on electrical systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure they operate safely and efficiently.
  • Repairs and Upgrades: Replace, repair, or upgrade faulty or outdated electrical components, such as wiring, switches, outlets, and circuit breakers. Collaborate with other maintenance professionals to complete necessary electrical repairs.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans to minimize downtime and reduce the risk of electrical system failures. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inspections.
  • Equipment Testing: Conduct testing and calibration of electrical equipment to verify performance and accuracy. Perform periodic load testing to assess the capacity of electrical systems.
  • Wiring and Installation: Install and configure electrical wiring and circuits as needed for new equipment, renovations, or upgrades. Ensure compliance with electrical codes and blueprints.
  • Emergency Response: Be on-call for emergency electrical repairs, responding promptly to minimize disruption and hazards. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during urgent situations.
  • Technical Expertise: Stay updated on industry best practices, new technologies, and advancements in electrical systems. Provide guidance and recommendations for system improvements and efficiency enhancements.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in CNC equipment and components `maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong safety OSHA knowledge to safely perform preventive and corrective maintenance functions. 
  • Completion of an electrical apprenticeship or relevant technical training is preferred. Valid electrician's license or certification as required by local regulations.
  • Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and blueprints. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills. 
  • Familiarity with electrical testing equipment and tools

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional qualification or certification in an Engineering discipline. 
  • Experience working with a Lean Operating Model / Production System
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification by a reputable certifying body or benchmark company
  • Manufacturing and facilities equipment experience in the Aerospace industry
  • A passion for the Aerospace industry

Compensation Data

The hourly compensation range for this position is:

$33.15 - $49.73
