Job Description

As a Security Officer - Transit Location in East Saint Louis, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Transportation, and more.

As part of the Allied Universal team, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents and fostering a welcoming environment in a dynamic transportation location. In this unarmed patrol role, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct regular patrols, and remain visible to support a secure atmosphere. You will also engage with the public, respond to situations as needed, and provide excellent customer service. What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining a professional presence at all times.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the transportation location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity or violations of policies.
• Observe and report on activities and/or incidents that occur during patrols or while stationed, documenting all necessary details as required.
• Communicate clearly with clients, visitors, and Allied Universal management regarding security-related concerns or incidents at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Must be able to provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
