About the role
AVER is a fast-growing SDVOSB that has achieved significant revenue growth over the past 5 plus years with much of our work focused on Data Analytics, Mission Support, IT Modernization and Biometrics. AVER is seeking an Instructional Designer to support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Formulate training framework ensuring core competencies, technical skills, certifications, and experiences are established, fleshed out, and made actionable across a variety of audiences which includes supervisors and staff. Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct information gathering with meeting sponsors and stakeholders, conduct agenda formulation (including research into appropriate facilitation methods for the topics), complete a reference documentation review, conduct the facilitation of meetings, and document a “Parking Lot” Process Improvement write-up.
- Analyze the PMO’s training program at a macro-level and will provide recommendations on budget allocation, career progression opportunities, compliance, and implementation of new programs and offerings.
- Facilitate decision making on high level approaches including standardization, resource allocation, candidate selection criteria, career progression.
- Develop policy guidance and publish policy ensuring widespread accessibility.
- Monitor and evaluate implementation, progress, and effectiveness of the training framework.
- Conduct environmental scans and stakeholder validation for the building and maintenance of competency models, skill gap analyses for identification of focus areas for training, training, and developmental offering identification (in conjunction with Training Coordinator).
- Oversee all aspects of training execution which includes monitoring compliance with mandatory trainings, developing training and curriculum, overseeing certification process, creating individual development plans, managing training info distribution through SharePoint, and assisting Government in training course research and training course logistics.
- Review all Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests to determine, with aid from the FOIA Manager, which program areas the FOIA applies to, and will conduct research on requested materials.
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 5+ years of experience with training or curriculum development, training compliance and certification, development plans
- 5+ years of experience with conducting trainings for regionally dispersed audiences, in person and remote
- Experience utilizing Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) methodology.
- Experience with using SharePoint or a similar took to share training materials and curriculum
- Strong experience within Microsoft Suite, specifically Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Must have strong organizational, communication and relationship management skills.
- Experience developing training programs and approaches for large organizations.
- Indianapolis, IN (2 times per week on customer site)
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a government clearance (Public Trust)
- This role supports a government agency that requires U.S. citizenship
