Teacher, Pre-K Lead

The Archdiocese of Baltimore is seeking a Pre-K Lead Teacher.  She/he will be accountable for the care and supervision of children. Their primary responsibilities are the safety and well-being of children in their care, but they also provide instruction and educational support in preparation for Kindergarten. The job opening is at St. Alphonsus Rodriguez Parish Preschool in Woodstock, Maryland.

Essential Functions:

• Leads the classroom staff to implement a program of instruction that adheres to the school’s philosophy, goals, and objectives
• Takes initiative in the classroom, and prepares the learning environment daily, including centers and activities
• Maintains a clean and organized classroom daily
• Leads classroom management and orderly transitions
• Uses positive words and actions in all communication and interaction with the students
• Implements daily activities with children
• Prepare crafts and activities 
• Prepare a learning environment daily including centers and activities
• Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration
• Assist with snack, lunch, and rest time

Position Qualifications:

• Minimum of a College diploma and 90-hour child care certification- able to be lead teacher qualified by the MSDE Office of Child Care. 
• An appreciation for young students and their families
• Willingness to support the mission of The Catholic Faith and the Archdiocese of Baltimore Catholic Schools
