Description
Rinker Design Associates (RDA) is a premier provider of professional civil engineering services, proudly serving both the public and private sectors. We are seeking a talented Junior Project Manager to join our dynamic Utilities Department. This department plays a crucial role in designing and coordinating a diverse range of utility services, including water, wastewater, electric, telecommunications, and gas. This position will provide leadership opportunities, including managing external client relationships, mentoring junior staff, and developing project schedules and budgets.Key Responsibilities
- Prepare design plans, specifications, and cost estimates for the relocation or undergrounding of dry utilities, including electric, telecommunications, and gas systems.
- Develop design calculations, plans, and specifications for water distribution and sanitary sewer collection projects.
- Collaborate with utility providers and regulatory agencies to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Assist in ensuring that all projects meet local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including obtaining the necessary permits and approvals.
- Work closely with internal engineering teams to develop preliminary, intermediate, and final design plans.
- Support the Director of Utilities in maintaining clear and consistent communication with clients, addressing any concerns, and providing regular project updates.
- Assist in managing client relationships, ensuring that project goals are met, and expectations are exceeded.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients, helping them understand project details and make informed decisions.
- Mentor engineering technicians and engineers and perform quality control reviews of deliverables.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field required.
- EIT certification preferred. PE license track is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in utility, land development, water/wastewater, or transportation engineering design required.
- AutoCAD Civil3D and/or MicroStation experience required.
- Capable of independently executing design tasks with precision and efficiency.
- Must demonstrate strong teamwork abilities and excel in both written and verbal communication.
