Position Summary

The Deposit Operations Representative is responsible for a wide variety of daily operational support functions to include providing support to branch and department employees regarding deposit operational issues, GL account balancing, processing legal claims, account verifications, research requests, adjustments to accounts, and document imaging tasks to include quality control of imaged documents, and maintaining of the document imaging program.  

 The following duties are intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities and ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional duties. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provide a wide variety of daily operational support such as processing levies, subpoenas, mail-in payments, research requests, dormant activation, and stop payment verification. 
2. Perform daily core maintenance to ensure accurate Customer, Deposit Account, House Holding, and IRS reporting records.
3. Assist the management and ongoing maintenance of deposit products.
4. Process mail-in deposits and payments.
5. Review daily exception reports within Image Centre to ensure quality control.
6. Digitize paper documents and index to the correct document type and keywords.
7. Perform Department and Teller GL account balancing to resolve out of balance conditions. 
8. Assist the management with ensuring Deposit Operations achieves satisfactory audit results. 
9. Assist in developing and maintaining updated procedures.
10. Perform department certifications.
11. Complete online, written and in-person compliance training within established timeframes.
12. Other duties as assigned.

Deposit Operations Specialist

1.    Exception item processing.

2.    Chargeback item processing.

3.    Death notifications. 

4.    ACH processing (manual returns & reclamations).

5.    Foreign exchange processing. 

6.    Check adjustments. 

7.    Reviewing and processing ATM, DLM and Mobile deposits.

8.    Invoicing Processing 

9.    Document Imaging

Qualifications 

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience

 Deposit Operations Representative

• One year of direct experience in banking back room operations processing or two years of general banking experience.

All positions

• An equivalent combination of education and experience in related field may be substituted.
• Related military education/experience may be used as a substitute for education or work experience.

Knowledge & Communication Skills 

• Solid understanding of federal regulations governing bank operations and legal documentation.
• Moderate knowledge of ACH operating rules. 
• Strong oral and written communication skills.  
• Effective communication with internal and external customers to answer questions and independently resolve complex problems.
• Ability to recognize when a problem requires escalation to a supervisor.
• Must understand and have the ability to implement applicable compliance requirements.
