Duties and Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for making decisions and solving problems, while analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution; resolving escalated customer issues, assisting the supervisor and often networking with immigration attorneys, judges, federal, and state agencies by analyzing unique situations and recommending innovative solutions; gathering and analyzing common problems and issues in immigration related issuance techniques, preparing correspondence to the field offices, taking corrective action and following up to ensure procedural compliance; receiving phone calls from DL field offices, tax collector offices, Bureau of Administrative Review offices, law enforcement, and the public regarding immigrant and non-immigrant issuance status.
Responsible for providing consultation and advice to others, providing expert guidance to management and other groups on technical, systems, or process related topics; consulting with immigration attorneys, judges, federal and state agencies for answering inquiries and advising them of department practices surrounding immigration; offering guidance and advice, assisting the supervisor to act as the department's subject matter expert regarding immigration requirements, documents, policies and procedures; participating in immigration outreach and knowledge sharing through workshops and meetings with the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and refugee and immigration service organizations, assisting the supervisor to act as the subject matter expert for all lawful presence training.
Responsible for identifying the educational needs of others, developing formal educational or training programs or classes, and teaching or instructing others; assisting supervisor to orient and train new coworkers and providing continued training for current employees; assisting with planning, coordinating and facilitating statewide immigration workshops for Driver License Examiners, Office Managers and Tax collector licensing agents; assisting with conducting specialized training to f
