Intern/Aide - Part-time

Summary

This position is intended to be a part time position to give some of the post doc students exposure to research. In this position, the post doc student will assist current lab members in an Alzheimer's disease project. This is part-time position, 20 hours/week. 

Job Duties

• Learns how to conduct behavioral studies, acclimate mice for awake imaging, collect tissues. 
• Manages and stores data to databases.
• Learns how to perform imaging processing algorithms.
• Assists current lab members with collecting data for an Alzheimer's Disease R01 grant.
• Collects behavioral data in mouse models.
• Acclimates mice for MRI studies
• Collects tissues  and coordinates data analysis and collection with BCM Core services.
• Manages and stores data onto online databases.
• Learns how to process MRI datasets.
• Assists with preparing manuscripts.
• Assists with manuscript preparation.
• Orders items for the lab.
• Maintains labs cleanliness.
• Performs other job-duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in high school, trade/vocational school or higher education institution. 

Preferred Qualifications

• BS or BA.
• Enthusiastic and desire to learn.
