Job Description
The Custody Operations Manager will lead the formation and development of a new custody operations team transitioning from the Trust 3000 platform to the SWP platform. This role is pivotal in building operational infrastructure from the ground up, including procedures, controls, and workflows to support settlements, reversals, corrections, and other transaction types. We are seeking an adaptable individual with a passionate to lead a team while finding operational efficiencies to help our partners.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the creation and implementation of new operational procedures and controls for the SWP platform.
Manage daily custody operations including settlements, reversals, corrections, and trade services.
Build and scale a high-performing team, including hiring, onboarding, and developing staff.
Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth platform migration and operational readiness.
Drive process improvement initiatives with a focus on automation and efficiency.
Ensure compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and risk mitigation standards.
Prepare and manage departmental budgets and contribute to net income goals.
Monitor and manage operational risks, identifying control gaps and implementing mitigation strategies.
Serve as a people-first leader, fostering a culture of adaptability, accountability, and continuous improvement.
The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there’s an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days at one of the posted locations.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience
- Three to five years of experience in trust and securities operational functions
- Three to five years of management experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Thorough knowledge of trust and securities operational functions, systems, procedures, products and services
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of legal, regulatory and accounting principles which directly affect Wealth Management & Securities Services business lines and clients
- Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, organizational and project management skills
- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent supervisory and management skills, including a well-developed knowledge of human resources
- Ability to manage multiple, unrelated tasks
- Additional one to three years experience managing Managers preferred
