As the Software Engineer you will be working with a unique and gifted team developing exciting products for consumers and collaborate with cross-functional teams. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of a large end to end project. You will have the opportunity to engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff for a confidential new project. You will be comfortable working across time zones and through ambiguity. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of technologies from large language models to back-end distributed systems. You will own the quality of major deliverables end-to-end, working closely with multiple engineers and teams to execute them.
Key job responsibilities
As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will be responsible for driving world class manufacturing software solutions to scale assembly automation globally. This will involve architecting, innovating software solutions for assembly processes, explore new technologies, implementing and scaling it globally. You will be driving the development working alongside team members from Asia pacific and will be the main interface between the Hardware, Contract Manufacturers (CMs) and Product Design Engineering teams with local and Offshore Operations teams within Lab126 and our OEM partners.

A day in the life
- Innovate, design, and develop scalable software architecture to program, reprogram assembly automation solutions. This involves coding in one of the key programming languages (C#, C, C++, Python) and developing an API to control assembly automation equipment.
- Troubleshoot issues to optimize MFG performance and solve complex manufacturing line problems
- Scale automation solutions working closely with Contract Manufacturers (CMs)
- Document software code, specifications for internal and external stake holders.
- Act as first point of contact for manufacturing software in US.
- Perform root cause analysis.
- Be willing to “roll up sleeves and do what needs to get done” in a small specialized team environment.
- Understand automation trends and support defining automation roadmap for next 3 years.
About the team
You will be working with highly skilled individuals with varying skills and background from China and US. Partner teams will look to you to solve complex issues using automation and coming up with new ways to improve the overall product design to delight our customers
- 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 7+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 5+ years of embedded SW Engineering experience

Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 7+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
