The Role at a Glance
We are excited to be hiring a Sr. Consultant, Portfolio Planning Program Manager (PPM) in our RPS Business Continuous Improvement, Agile Product Management, and Production Support team. We are on an exciting journey to transforming our Retirement Plan Services (RPS). This role will run core program management efforts at the domain level and oversees accountability across the execution teams. You will understand the interdependencies between portfolios and value streams and potential financial impacts. You will also facilitate domain-level prioritization through consultation with business and technology teams and fosters agile operating model planning and ceremonies. Your primary objective is to keep the RPS portfolio strategic and forward-looking, aligning with enterprise goals and staying ahead of the business plan.
What you'll be doing
- Partners with business Portfolio Owner and/or IT external groups without Portfolio Owners (ETO, Compliance, other, etc) to explore an idea or opportunity and evolve it into a potential initiative for intake assessment and prioritization
- Identifies alternatives for portfolio sequencing, rebalancing, and adjustments through partnership with Product and Platform Leader(s)
- Enables portfolio transparency and ensures portfolio strategies and enterprise roadmaps are defined and available to stakeholders
- Supports domain-level and portfolio-level planning, coordination, capacity, strategy development and road mapping efforts led by the product organization
- Promotes communication and alignment across business, product, and technology teams to ensure progression in delivery against the domain’s goals and the portfolios’ goals
- Drives accountability across teams to achieve committed objectives within established time frames and established capacity/budget
- Manages domain-level and portfolio-level risks, issues, and dependencies, mitigating and quickly escalating to the appropriate stakeholders, where needed
- Works with peers and Finance to manage spend and track against benefits realization targets
- Drives accountability across the portfolios and help overcome roadblocks throughout the planning and execution process as well as delivery of overall objectives/OKR’s/ KPI’s/ measure of success
- Reviews and supports resource constraints mitigation to maximize portfolio efficiency and ensure benefits are realized
- Delivers domain-level updates at all levels of the organization, including preparation and delivery of supporting documents (i.e., slides and financial summaries)
What we’re looking for
Must-haves:
- 5+ Years experience in portfolio management and/or demonstrated leadership experience that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position
- 4 Year/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)
- Excellent Strategic, communication, and presentation skills, capable of developing and communicating complex information as appropriate to an audience
- Demonstrates strong relationship management skills with internal customers (e.g. senior management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches
- Demonstrates strong working knowledge of insurance products, business functions, concepts and services
- Ability to think critically, analyze complex information and to evaluate the implications of a course of action or solution
- Serves as a mentor and shares expertise with team members
- Working knowledge of lean & agile values, principles and practices
