Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Corrections (DOC) Parole Division is seeking an individual to serve as an Office Associate to provide clerical support for the Parole Supervisor. We are seeking an organized and detailed oriented person with the ability to handle a fast-paced environment to join our team. The ideal candidate will also need to be able to communicate effectively verbally, electronically, and in writing with both internal and external stakeholders. Essential Functions
- Composes and keyboards complex and varied correspondence, memoranda, and documents for the Parole Supervisor(s) of an assigned office.
- Prepares and maintains complex, highly specialized records and reports, including reports of personnel, professional, and administrative matters that include sociological, medical, and legal terminology.
- Assists with timekeeping duties by submitting bi-monthly time statements.
- Gathers and collects sociological, psychological, and psychiatric reports and correspondence.
- Responds to inquiries from the general public, parole agents, management, and vendors.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two (2) years of office experience.
- Requires the ability to keyboard accurately 45 words per minute.
