Director of Engineering Platform

Director of Engineering Platform (viagogo Inc., New York, NY) Lead the process and Implementation of Operational Excellence across the Engineering Organization holding weekly Triages and following through on action items related to Incidents. Drive roadmap and delivery of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plan across the Engineering Platform. Manage Teams dedicated to Application Security, Scalability, Developer Tools and Infrastructure Automation. Translate ambitious and ambiguous problems into equally ambitious engineering roadmaps and then deliver against them. Recruit and build an inclusive, high-performing organization, leveraging your network, your team’s network, and partnering with our talent team. Lead and manage a team of software engineers in supporting the performance and scalability of the viagogo technical platform. Mentor and train team members in order to deliver solutions. Lead the identification of bottlenecks and pain points across the engineering organization and work to alleviate them. Lead the business by ensuring systems are highly available, secure and always functioning. Manage the technology and evolution of common best practices and shared code. Drive the adoption of a .NET standard in order to utilize .NET core where appropriate. Oversee the upgrading and refactoring of legacy applications to latest .NET framework and best practices. Telecommuting may be permitted. When not telecommuting, must report to viagogo Inc., 3 World Trade Center - 175 Greenwich Street, 59th floor, New York, NY 10007. Salary: $350,000 - $400,000 per year.   Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field plus 6 years of professional experience as an Engineering Manager, Team Lead, Platform Lead or related occupation/position/job title involving software development. EXPERIENCE: Must have 6 years of professional experience working on all phases of software development lifecycle (including requirement gathering and analysis, planning, design, development, implementation, testing, deployment and maintenance), managing and building high-performing Engineering teams.  Must also have the following special skills: 5 years of professional experience utilizing .Net Core & .Net Framework, WinDBG, and PerfMon in Production Systems; 5 years of professional experience building and operating production systems handling customer base of 2000 Requests/Second data volumes using MS SQL, Windows, and IIS; 5 years of professional experience utilizing Windows Administration and IIS for running production services; 5 years of professional experience working with Networking Technologies including F5 Load Balancers, and Akamai Networking; 5 years of professional experience utilizing tools (including Power BI, T-SQL, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Analysis Services and Excel) to answer ad-hoc systems questions and build reports; 5 years of professional experience designing and implementing Service oriented architecture using GRPC, Protobuff, and MessagePack; and 5 years of professional experience designing and building telemetry data pipeline for monitoring and observability. Please apply online at: https://workatviagogo.com/
