Budget Officer

GS-13: To be qualified at the GS-13 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience serving as a financial management expert and developing, planning, implementing, and administering the full spectrum of budget and financial management activities. Examples of specialized experience include: analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of financial management programs, systems, and operations in meeting established goals and objectives; developing financial policies to facilitate achievement of program goals and objectives; providing recommendations and alternative approaches to improve program plans, budget proposals, costs of operations, and program accomplishments; and providing technical guidance, advice, and assistance to senior management in the identification of future resource and budget requirements. Career Transition Assistance Plan (CTAP)-The CTAP provides eligible surplus and displaced competitive service employees in the Department of Justice with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
