HIM Release of Information Specialist (968)

JOB SUMMARY
This position is for a Release of Information Specialist that must at all times safeguard and protect the patient’s rights of privacy by ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to the patient’s medical information and that all release of information are in compliance with the request, authorization, company policy and HIPAA statutes. Additionally, they are required to assist in other vital statics and analyst job duties. This position engages in direct customer service and must perform duties and conduct interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of the organization.
 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum level of Education: Equivalent to completion of two years of college in Health information Management, computer sciences preferred..

Formal Training: Skills with experience in planning, organizing, implementing, verbal and written communications preferred. Knowledge of Electronic Health System(s).  

Licensure, Certifications & Registration: Preferred: RHIT, CCA, CRIS

Work Experience: Intermediate typing and computer skills with previous experience in hospital setting preferred. Data Analysis, Release of Information with Five (5) + years in a health field related work environment preferred.
